Semester Project

The Letter

My semester project takes the events of the Three Mile Island incident and narrates them with a twist through the perspective of an onsite worker. I wanted to include some sort of frame narrative, and I did this with a chain-letter type vibe. The title page is meant to convey that, as well as the changes in font.

  1. This was a good read! I had only the barest sense of what Three Mile Island even was, let alone that there was any sort of controversy or scandal surrounding it. Your story really brought the issues to light, and framed them in a larger context of media, power, and truth.

  2. I like how you tell us just enough to reveal the conspiracy, but leave out enough information for us to fill in the gaps and details ourselves. It kinda feels like the beginning to a dystopian novel, especially with "the key to a movement is its message" at the end.

  3. This was cool to read. I like how you leave mystery but explain enough for us to get hooked and start thinking about this in more depth. I had barely heard of the three mile incident so this was really cool to read with almost no prior knowledge. it felt very mystery novel-esque and i liked the anonymity of the letter, it felt like the beginning of an adventure.

  4. This reads like a crazy conspiracy theory and I love it. While reading you really have to consider whether there is some government conspiracy or if it was just a scary story that someone made up. That conundrum really makes us consider the truth of any information from an untrusted source.
